Our goal was to design the Thermawood product brand, products and create tools for the proper management of design activities. We divided product design into many stages, which involved prototyping and testing, taking into account the target group. We wanted to create a product that the consumer expects. The final result of the project was the launch of the exterior door collection, including the entry to the international market. Additionally, a document describing the DNA of new products and the packaging design system was created. As part of the task, we also focused on merchandising activities, i.e. the method of labeling products, the rules for presenting products, the rules for presenting products on the shelf and in the store space, and the rules for presenting products at fairs, shows and events.
The result of our activities was the creation of four collections. The first of them is the Classic collection – characterized by a line and decorations known to all lovers of traditional solutions. The Art Decor collection was inspired by the returning fashion for the so-called herringbone, presenting its various variations in subsequent models. The Minima collection, on the other hand, is a series of minimalist solutions that combine wood and stone, glass or quartz sintered applications. The last of the collection – Natural – is a tribute to nature, in which large, uninterrupted surfaces of oak and pine allow the form of the wood itself to resonate.

It is worth mentioning that Thermawood is also a rich portfolio of possible personalization. It is distinguished not only by the ability to choose the varnish or color of our doors, but also to replace the material from which the applications are made, the selection of the selected handrail or door handle and wood refinement. How is it refined? Through one of the 3 options – brushing, giving it a raw and cool character, aging making our door seem very mature, and tanning, giving it a deep, black color and unique character. The method of door configuration is also important – at thermawood.pl you will find a specially designed 3D configurator. Thanks to it, we can personalize our dream door ourselves, both on a smartphone and on a computer, and we will see the effects of this configuration on a virtual 3D model. There is nothing else but to invite you to design!
During design, prototyping turned out to be the most important step. Here is the final product.
To evaluate the prototypes in terms of style, we prepared door patterns printed on a 3D printer, samples of pine and oak wood were prepared for the assessment of wood finish, to finally create a ready door, for usability assessment.
The Drewnolit company produces glued-laminated timber windows, interior and exterior doors, various types of furniture, tables, chairs, stairs, bar and restaurant equipment, comprehensive finishing and furnishing of rooms for various purposes, glued-laminated timber ceilings, garden furniture, gazebos, pergolas. It has an extensive, innovative machine park and extremely kind and friendly employees. We highly recommend cooperation to all those who are looking for products made of pine or oak wood. The culmination of this project was the preparation of a book of signs and a Brandbook, which described the entire brand, both the parent brand Drewnolit and Thermawood, the product brand. Job vacancies and marketing materials were prepared. See for yourself the effect of our work.
